User Testing

Usability tests for voice interfaces

Testing voice interfaces is an excellent means of assessing the user experience for the following applications: mobile phones, voice messaging, automatic information systems, reservation systems, call center referrals, etc.

In order to obtain an accurate measure of the problems faced by users, it is necessary to capture all types of communication between the user and the information system. Tests of voice recognition applications simply require verbal communications to be captured.

However, in the case of interactive response applications that require keypad input, key usage must be captured and synchronized with the recorded message. This approach provides an objective reconstruction of the user experience, and helps to pinpoint usability issues.
