Rapid prototyping methods: Mock-ups, Wireframes, Scenarios, and Storyboards

Wireframe example

Yu Centrik produces both static mock-ups and interactive prototypes. These techniques help in terms of assessing and optimizing usability at an early stage of the development process, which eliminates potentially serious errors.

A wireframe is a schematic prototype that is designed to illustrate key interactions, the design metaphor, the positioning of the main zones on the page, and the navigation process (including menu systems).

Usage scenarios are specific textual descriptions that are very useful in designing interfaces. They help to define the manner and context in which users perform their tasks.

Deliverables: schematic design of screen pages, interactive wireframes, and scenario diagram of the most common or critical tasks.
