Style Guide or User Interface Guide
A style guide or user interface guide serves to document design guidelines and to ensure the consistency of a final product interface and its compliance with standards.
The style guide helps to ensure uniform design by setting design standards. For example, a style guide helps to prevent unnecessary differences between menu bars, buttons, icons, and the manner in which content is laid out within a particular application and among multiple applications.
Usability principles and recommendations guide the design process, and are intended for designers, programmers, and other stakeholders who are involved in the design of the new product.
This document serves as a guide throughout the design process and throughout the evolution of the product.
Deliverables: report that describes user interface interactions and standards, illustrated with screen captures or schematic screen diagrams.
