" Integrating human factors into the design "
User-Centered Design (UCD) is a method for designing interactive systems that is based on Human Factors, or in other words, the needs, expectations, and cognitive abilities (perceptual, memory, learning etc.) of users, and the tasks that they need to accomplish.
Our goal is to design usable products.
User-Centered Design: People at the heart of the design.
User-Centered Design applies recognized usability principles in order to design usable systems.
This methodology is described in more detail in ISO standards 13407 and 9241.
Three major principles must be taken into account in designing usable products:
- 1. Utility
- 2. Usability
- 3. Accessibility
The emergence of new technologies has made businesses more aware that user experience plays an essential role in product quality.
